Verdict:
Watch it for only and only unintentional laughters
Detailed Analysis:
There are few weeks in the life of movie critics when he knows inevitable as there are heaps of potential bad films in offering. This is one such week and 'Dirty Politics' is one such film. One feels bad for director like K C Bokadia, who gave hits in 80's and 90's, seems outdated today.
Well, film is loosely based on real incidents in Rajasthan. Few years back Bhanvari Devi made headlines when medley of sex, sleaze and politics came out in open. Anokhi Devi (Mallika Sherawat) who is not so educated dancer, makes entry into the political arena. When she feels betrayed and uses her body via an explosive MMS, whole political scenario changes overnight. How she becomes instrumental in bringing out relevant social and political issues forms the rest of the story. Performance wise Mallika Sherawat tries her best but she falls flat due to lack of acting capabilities. Om Puri enjoys (pun intended) his role in all wrong ways. Naseerudin Shah, Ashutosh Rana and Anupam Kher look disinterested throughout. Film has outdated background score and every song tests patience. Editing is uneven while cinematography is below par. Story is good but screenplay is completely pathetic. Dialogues deserve special mention for unintentional comic relief. Art department and costume department are tacky enough.
Director K C Bokadia falls in category of Subhash Ghai and many more directors from 80's who are now completely outdated. He gave some improbable hits i.e. 'Teri Mehebaaiyan' and 'Aaj Ka Arjun' back then. But now they should gracefully retire. Film released today and should release across 300 screens. Film has no chances at box office. Film will be lucky if it can reach 5 crore figure of lifetime collection.
Go for this one for only and only Mallika (really you wnat to go!!)!
