NEWTON Makes It To 3rd Weekend
Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Newton’ managed a decent Friday by collecting 96 lakhs, good growth in the footfalls was seen by the evening. The film is already getting excellent feedback and good word-of-mouth. It seems that it will do well in the coming days.
After the announcement of ‘Newton’ being the official entry for India in Oscars 2018, more people will head to theatres which will surely going to benefit the film.
The film started on a low note on Friday but bucked up very well on Saturday and received remarkable total of 6.90 cr over the weekend. It emerged as winner over weekend despite the bigger releases like ‘Bhoomi’ and ‘Haseena Parkar’. ‘Newton’ is expected to maintain momentum on weekdays.
‘Newton’ had a terrific Monday and collected 1.31 cr. It was bigger than Friday. It garnered strong word of mouth which is working for its benefit. Around 450 shows increased across multiplexes.
The film made a good jump on Tuesday and collected 1.34 cr at the box office, making its total to 9.55 cr. ‘Newton’ is being applauded by audiences which is turning into good box office numbers. On 6th Day, the film collected 1.18 cr and total reached to 10.73 cr.
The film had a good Week 1. The superb growth over the weekend and consistent trending on weekdays helped to get good numbers. It finished week 1 with 11.83 cr.
In the second weekend, the film collected 0.91 cr, 1.66 cr, 1.75 cr on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively. As a Monday being a part of long weekend benefitted the film and 1.44 were collected. Despite of tough competition from Varun Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’, ‘Newton’ is finding its audience.
''''Newton'''' has completed its 2 weeks and is a surprise at the box office. The movie has collected 7.09 cr in its week 2. It now stands at the grand total of 18.92 cr. The film survived in the 3rd weekend and collected 1.49 cr. Despite new releases, the film is still there and doing well.
