The story of the movie revolves around the real-life story of the international hockey player and ex-Indian captain Sandeep Singh. Sandeep Singh was accidentally gunshot in 2006, after which he was paralyzed waist down and used a wheelchair for two years. Directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma has Diljit Dosanjh portraying Sandeep Singh and how fighting against all odds, he got back on his feet and made a comeback to the international hockey in 2008. Soorma had an opening day of 3.20 cr at the box office. The 1st Saturday collection of the movie was 5.05 cr whereas the movie went up collecting 5.60 cr on its 1st Sunday. The total collection of the movie up to now is 13.85 cr.
