BANGISTAN Opens To Poor Numbers And JAANISAAR Is Washout
Last few weeks saw some humongous business at box office thanks to ''Bahubali'' and ''Bajrangi Bhaijaan''. Last week saw release of Ajay Devgn starrer ''Drishyam'' which was average at box office. And this week will see interesting mix of films at box office - blck comedy ''Bangistan'', period drama ''Jaanisar'' and Hollywood big franchise flick ''Misison Impossible 5''.
''Bangistan'' is one more Excel Entertainment film with too urban and niche feel. Film opened to very poor numbers around 8-10% and with not so great reviews coming out, it looks like a tough ride at box office ahead for the film. Film was so bad in few markets that even evening shows were cancelled due to insufficient audience. Film collected very poor 1.05 cr nett on day one. It is now in no hope zone.
Other Bollywood release ''Jaanisar'' did not have any pre release buzz so poor opening does not come as surprise. Film got less than 5% opening and there are no chances of improvement. Film collected less than 8 lakhs nett on day one.
''''Mission Impossible 5 Rogue Nation'''' will be best film this weekend as film has taken a very good opening in the range of 40% in metros and overall even in dubbed version it should score well. It seems film will cross 6-7 cr nett on day one depending on performance in late night shows.
Holdover release ''''Drishyam'''' will hold well and should not drop more than 50% on 2nd Friday which means at least 3 cr nett 2nd Friday.
