DRISHYAM Had Average Day One
Last few weeks saw some humongous business at box office thanks to ''''Bahubali'' and ''Bajrangi Bhaijaan''. This week will see release of Ajay Devgn starrer ''Drishyam'' which is remake of blockbuster film from down south of same name.
Film was released yesterday with paid previews all over especially in metros. Film is dependent on word of mouth and positive reviews but releasing on Thursday was a tricky move as such films generally grow on Friday evening only. That is why film collected poor 55 lakhs nett on Thursday in paid previews.
Film got releases in 2365 screens which means film is overexposed as such film should had been released maximum in 1500 screens. Now with such a release, film has taken a really poor opening around 20% and there is huge scope of growth in next two days with so much empty capacity.
Film collected 32 lakhs nett in Rajasthan as per leading distributor Gaurav Gaur. As per early estimate, film should collect close to 6.60-6.75 cr nett on day one which is not bad. Film recovered well in evening shows and now next two days are key for the film as good jump can take it close to 25-28 cr nett weekend which is minimum expectation.
