KATTI BATTI Has Below Par Opening
'Katti Batti' is releasing today which is directed by Nikhil Advani who has really bad track record at box office with epic duds like 'Salam E Ishq', 'Chandani Chowk To China' and recently released 'Hero'. Film is produced by Disney U TV and Emmay Entertainment. Film has Imran Khan who has terrible box office record in recent times and Kangana Ranaut is the only strong point of the film.
Film has decent pre release buzz thanks to Kangan Ranaut and her recent extraordinary box office record. Film is a kind of solo release plus 'Welcome Back' has slowed down so it has good chance to score if it gets good reviews. But sadly not so good reviews have started pouring in already which makes weekend even more important as it will surely drop on Monday.
Film took a below par start in mass areas around 25% but urban centers are average to below average with 30% occupancy. Overall this 30% start is not good for a film but this needs to improve from evening onwards followed by big growth over weekend. As per early trends, film should collect close to 4.25 -4.75 cr nett on day one which is below par as it requires minimum 6.5-7 cr to have chance in long run.
Other new releases 'Meeruthiya Gangsters' and 'MSG 2' have no chance at box office. Hollywood releases 'Everest', 'Pawn Sacrifice' and 'Blackmass' will score among niche audience in metros.
