JISM 2 Performs Above Average On Day One
“Jism 2” was released with preview shows yesterday in order to cash hype surrounding the leading lady of the film and take the advantage of holiday. Tactics worked well as film collected handsome amount of 1.05 cr nett on Thursday only.
On Friday film started off really well especially in smaller centers. CI, CP and Nizam were almost 60% occupied and Maharashtra and Delhi were not too much behind. But high end multiplexes were below average and they did not improve much later in the day.
As the day progressed negative word of mouth and bad reviews started taking toll on urban centers. Film still doing fine business over all but today’s late night shows and by and large Saturday will decide the fate of the film. If Saturday manages to hold on even on to the levels of Friday, it will be great and even marginal drop will not be a bad result. But what is feared is a distinct drop on 2nd Day.
As per early estimates film collected 6.80 cr nett and that takes film’s total collections to 6.85 cr nett. First weekend should be in the range of 17-18 cr nett but anything less than will be disaster for distributors.
