ALIGARH And TERE BIN LADEN DEAD OR ALIVE Failed To Score Big On Saturday
This week is full of unexciting films from box office perspective. ''Aligarh'' is critically acclaimed but almost zilch chance at box office, ''Tere Bin Laden Dead Or Alive'' is equally dull and then plethora of films which are flop even before release i.e. ''Rhythm'', ''Bollywood Diaries'', ''Jab Tum Kaho'', ''Love Shagun'' and ''The Best Seller''.
''Tere Bin Laden Dead Or Alive'' released across 1000 screens in India. Film had multiplex urban appeal and it will find tough to score among masses/single screens. Film had poor pre release buzz and awareness in addition to average reviews. Film has no sequel edge as even first part run successfully in handful cinemas only. Film opened to 10% occupancy with best figures in Mumbai and north.
Film never improved on day one and collected 85 lakhs nett followed by equally poor Saturday of 95 lakhs nett. Film has two day total of 1.70 cr nett and at best it will have 3 cr nett weekend and 5.50 cr net lifetime. It will fail to recover its marketing cost. Disaster!
''Aligarh'' is highly acclaimed film but ti will find tough at box office as subject as well as feel of the content will go against it. Film has no face value and Hansal Mehta has given all dry serious films in past so no box office pull. Film failed to cross even 50 lakhs nett on day one followed by 65 lakhs net ton Saturday. Film has two day total of 1.15 cr nett and weekend should be around 2 cr nett. Flop!
