Thugs Of Hindostan Fails To Attract Audience
Set in a time whenthe East India Company was trying to conquer India, Thugs of Hindostan isset in Raunakpur which is still not under the British rule. EnglishCaptain Clive (Lloyd Owen) kills Raunakpur’s king Mirza (Ronit Roy) and hiswife. Clive is also about to kill Mirza’s daughter Zafira (her elder versionplayed by Fatima Sana Shaikh) but she’s rescued at the eleventh hour byKhudabaksh aka Azaad’s (Amitabh Bachchan), a rebel from Raunakpur. Elevenyears later, the East India Company seeks the help of thug Firangi Mallah(Aamir Khan) to capture Azaad and his followers.
After smashingseveral records on the day of its release, Thugs of Hindostan has started on adownhill journey ever since the critics gave the film a thumbs down. The film,which opened with a record-breaking collection of Rs 50.75 crore, registered aremarkable fall during the weekend. It collected Rs 17.25 crore on its firstSunday, taking its four-day total to Rs 123 crore. Monday saw the tickets salesa huge slump gathering only 5.50 cr and Tuesday collection went upto 4.35cr taking its total t0 128.85 cr.
Thugs Of Hindostancouldn’t impress the audience much on its 1st Wednesday and collected 3.50 cr. Evenon its 2nd Thursday the movie couldn’t attract the audience and thus collected2.60 cr. The total collection of the movie now becomes 134.95 cr.
