JAZBAA Had Decent Run On Weekdays
Last two weeks saw interesting mix of the film but this week it is more about Bollywood versus Hollywood versus South. Bollywood has one big film to offer which is 'Jazbaa'' comeback vehicle of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Hollywood has highly acclaim 'The Walk', 'Pan' and 'Sicario'. 'Rudramdevi' from south was also fighting at box office. As expected 'Jazbaa' managed to dominate box office.
'Jazbaa' has got very good reviews which will work good for the film if it gets some kind of acceptance among classes as Sanjay Gupta brand will ensure some kind of footfall among masses. Film opened to good occupancy of 25-30% in Gujarat, UP, CI considering it has wide release across 1850 screens. Film collected good 4.23 cr nett on day one with good growth in evening shows. Film is biggest solo Irrfan Khan opener.
Film needed growth from day one and film did exactly that. Film grew by 30% and collected 5.49 cr nett. Film added 5.52 cr nett on Sunday as cricket match affected its collection. Still film has come out with 15.24 cr nett in three days and film collected 2.11 cr nett on Monday with only 50% drop followed by 1.69 cr nett on Tuesday and 1.37 cr nett on Wednesday.
Film has total of 20.41 cr nett in six days and now first week is heading for to 22 cr nett after week one. Film has done 7.60 cr (1.2 million $) in overseas which is decent for such genre and cast.
