Wednesday, 30th August 2017, 04:00 PM IST 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan', directed by R S Prasanna, which revolves around erectile dysfunction in men, and how it’s taken in the society, has been given a U/A certificate without any deletions of scenes or dialogues. Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar essay the lead roles as Mudit and Sugandha respectively. The film's story intends to throw light on an issue which has been essentially spoken about in bedrooms. Producer Aanand L Rai, praising the CBFC's ability to look at the film in context and giving certification accordingly, says, "I think the society, in general, has become more liberal and progressive when it comes to the subjects and issues depicted in the movies. The current generation has a progressive outlook towards issues they face and communicate the same with each other. However, this wasn't the case before. I am glad that the Censor Board is adapting to the change that has come about in the mindset." Ayushmann expressed, “I am so glad we got this all-clear from the CBFC. This just shows that the CBFC is progressive and supports the content of our film, which deals with performance-anxiety among men. When audiences see 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' they’ll realise it’s a very important film.” 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan', produced by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions, releases on September 1, 2017 and will clash with multi-starrer ‘Baadshaho’.
