Wednesday, 12th October 2016, 04:00 PM IST Priyanka Chopra's latest cover for Conde Nast Traveller Magazine invited some heat for the actress. In the picture Priyanka sported a white tee which had refugee, immigrant, outsider, traveller words printed on it and the first three were striked off with red line. After this the actress faced much criticism online, however the magazine has come out in her defense. They clarify that they were targeting the culture of xenophobia. The official statement of the magazine reads, “At Conde Nast Traveller, we believe that the opening up of borders and the breaking down of walls can help us discover the world, and open up our minds and hearts. So, when we had actress Priyanka Chopra wear a T-shirt, we had a point to make. And it's not about privilege. It's about how our labelling of people as immigrants, refugees and outsiders is creating a culture of xenophobia.” Now you can enjoy ad-free experience by downloading India’sfirst Box Office mobile app from here –Android: http://bit.ly/BOCapsuleMobileApp and iOS: bit.ly/BOCapsuleiOSApp |
