Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt scored century with '2 States', Varun Dhawan scored 50 cr nett plus with 'Main Tera Hero' and then star son Tiger Shroff starrer 'Heropanti' made big money at box office with his debut film itself! 'Jai Ho' failed to live upto the expectations and it was 'Gunday' which proved to be the big earner in 1st quarter. But it was sleeper hit of the year 'Queen' and horrex 'Ragini MMS 2' which surprised one and all with excellent numbers. Then Akshay Kumar came back after disappointing 2013 and 'Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty' made killing over weekend followed by equally good 'Humshakals'. And another surprise package is ruling the roost in overseas market. 'Ek Villain' took a superb start in overseas market and crossed lifetime business of 'Holiday' and 'Humshakals' in UK in just two days. Film collected huge $ 22,10,000 over weekend which is 3rd best in year 2014, only behind 'Jai Ho' and '2 States'. Now 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' scored good $12,25,000 over weekend and that was best 8th opening of 2014. Film slightly underperformed in overseas market. Now new big release 'Kick' starring Salman Khan scored rather average numbers at box office in overseas market. Film collected 3 million $ (18 cr) which was 2nd best opening of the year 2014 behind another Salman Khan starrer 'Jai Ho'.
