DRISHYAM Is Heading For 76 Cr nett Lifetime

Last few weeks saw some humongous business at box office thanks to ''Bahubali'' and ''Bajrangi Bhaijaan''. Last week saw release of Ajay Devgn starrer ''Drishyam'' which is remake of blockbuster film from down south of same name.

Film was released on Thursday with paid previews all over especially in metros. Film was dependent on word of mouth and positive reviews but releasing on Thursday was a tricky move as such films generally grow on Friday evening only. That is why film collected poor 55 lakhs nett on Thursday in paid previews.

Film got releases in 2365 screens which means film is overexposed as such film should had been released maximum in 1500 screens. Now with such a release, film has taken a really poor opening around 20% and there is huge scope of growth in next two days with so much empty capacity.

Film collected close to 5.30 cr nett on day one which was not bad following 50 lakhs nett in paid previews. Film recovered well in evening shows and on day two it jumped across the board due to terrific word of mouth. Film collected 7.50 cr nett on day two.

Film collected 9.75 cr nett on Sunday and weekend was around 23.05 cr nett. Film collected 3.65 cr nett on Monday which is drop of 50% from Friday. Film added 3.50 cr nett on Tuesday, 3.30 cr nett on Wednesday and 3.15 cr nett on Thursday. Film has total of 46.65 cr nett in week one. Film held well on 2nd Friday and collected 2.75 cr nett. As expected, film jumped by 60% on on 2nd Saturday and collected 4.05 cr nett followed by 5.40 cr nett on 2nd Sunday. Film collected 12 cr nett in 2nd weekend which is a good result. Film added 1.60 cr nett on Monday, 1.65 cr nett on Tuesday, 1.65 cr ntt on Wednesday and 1.65 cr nett on Thursday.

Film added 1.10 nett on 3rd Friday and jumped big on 3rd Saturday. Film collected 1.80 cr nett on 3rd Saturday and now it added 1.60 cr nett on Sunday. Film added 3 cr plus on weekdays taking 3rd week total to 7 cr nett plus. Film collected 2.10 cr nett over 4th weekend followed by 1.19 cr nett on weekdays.

Film has total of 75.01 cr nett in 28 days and it is heading for 76 cr nett lifetime. Film collected average total of 17 cr in overseas in 28 days.
