''Tamasha'' was never expected to do too well on opening day as music of the film failed to catch up and promos gave very niche and classy vibes. Film released overseas all over and in India across 2150 screens. But still film has taken good to decent start all over due to lead pair and urban appeal.

Film opened to 45-50% occupancy in Delhi, NCR and UP. Film is close to 40% in West and 40-45% in central India. Even in places like Nizam and Tamilnadu it managed 40% plus occupancy. Film received mix reviews as on one side masses did not like film that much but film is holding its own in urban centers and among youth. Film collected 10.94 cr nett on day one. 

Film took a slow start in mass centers like CI, CP and Rajasthan but film is solid in Delhi, East Punjab, Bangalore and Pune. Film collected 13.17 cr nett on Saturday with 21% growth which was fantastic. Film collected today 14.12 cr nett with almost 10% growth over Saturday and this growth came from all the major metros/urban centers.

Film behaved completely on expected lines in domestic market as it dropped by 50% on Monday and today it collected close to 5.07 cr nett followed by 4.07 on Tuesday, 3.32 cr nett on Wednesday and 2.77 cr nett on Thursday.

Film dropped heavily on 2nd Friday and collected only 1.72 cr nett followed by 2.84 cr nett on 2nd Saturday and 3.21 cr nett on Sunday. Film collected 7.75 cr nett in 2nd weekend and 2.95 cr nett on weekdays with total of 10.70 cr nett in 2nd week. This was drop of 80% from week one. Film collected 2.85 cr nett in 3rd week and added 3.50 cr nett in 3rd week.

Film had 68 cr nett lifetime total which is below par. Film failed to score anywhere except in high end multiplexes. Film collected good 3.45 million $ (23 cr) in overseas in three days which was 3rd best of 2015 and close to 31 cr in week one.
