This year has marked arrival of Hollywood films in big way as ''The Jungle Book'' and ''Captain America'' did solid business and former broke the 175 cr nett barrier. After that 2nd installment of biggest Hollywood horror film ''The Conjuring'' scored big followed by ''Finding Dory''. Now its turn of sequel of cult film ''Independence Day''. ''Independence Day Resurgence'' was expected to open big and that is what happened. Film opened to close to 40% occupancy. Film was solid in metros and even few mass pockets were good. Film crossed 4.70 cr nett on opening day. Film had slim growth on 2nd day with total of 5.80 cr nett. Film collected very good 6.40 cr nett on Sunday. Film has 1st weekend total of 16.90 cr nett.
