But film was facing competition at box office from successful sex comedy franchise ''''Kya Kool Hain Hum 3''''.
Film released today across 2600 screens in India and 68 screens in Middle East. On Friday film opened to 35% opening in India and multiplexes/urban centers are doing better on expected lines. What is heartening is that film has opened to better numbers than ''''''''Baby'''''''' which released last year in same week. Film collected 12.35 cr nett on day one.
Film has got good to very good reviews and that helped film from Friday evening onwards. Film started Saturday on good note and growth was across the board. Film collected 14.60 cr nett on Saturday with growth of 35%. Film was in top form on Sunday as it managed to grow by 45% in places like Nagpur, Surat and Mysore. Film collected 17.35 cr nett on Sunday. Film stamped authority with solid Monday and collected 10.40 cr nett which was almost equal to Friday number.
Film jumped big on Tuesday because of national holiday and collected 17.80 cr nett which was equal to its Sunday number. Film dropped on Wednesday and collected 6 cr nett as such films tend to drop on weekdays after such huge holiday biz followed by 5 cr nett on Thursday. Film crossed highest ever week one number of Akshay Kumar starrer ''Rowdy Rathore'' which was 79.8 cr nett.
Film has one week total of 83.50 cr nett which is very healthy total. now film is certain to cross 100 cr nett and good 2nd weekend can take it close to 115-120 cr nett lifetime. Like December clash, it seems one more time ''content and reviews win over old school entertainment''. Film collected 18 cr over weekend in overseas and 26.50 cr in week one.
