PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO Scores Very Good Day Two
Diwali is great time for films to release as audience is in festive mood and is waiting for big Diwali releases. Yesterday Salman Khan starrer Sooraj Barjatya film 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' lit up box office on auspicious occasion of Diwali. Film brings back blockbuster pair of actor - director after 17 years and also smiles on faces of trade and exhibitors.
PRDP released in 4300 screens in India and 780 screens in overseas market. With 2 hour 50 minutes run time, it did lose some amount of edge but that has been recovered by super stardom of lead actor and release date. Film opened to fab response all over yesterday and as we predicted, film collected huge 40.35 cr nett on day one in Hindi and 41.50-41.75 cr nett all India including Tamil & Telugu which is highest opening day of 2015 and 2nd highest ever.
Film collected huge numbers all over and it created new circuit records in 7 circuits and left behind only in West and south. Film has taken a solid start today too and it should hold well going by the early trend. The question in the morning was whether film will dip to 25 cr nett level with 35% drop or whether it will hold strongly at 30 cr nett with with 25% drop. Answer is that it fell somewhat in between.
But as we predicted in our report today morning that it has dropped by 30% today. As per early estimates, film should collect close to 28.60 cr nett today which is a very good performance. Film should again grow tomorrow in evening shows and should easily clock 31-32 cr nett. It means it should cross 100 cr nett tomorrow.
Film has two day total of 70 cr nett which is fantastic. Film added superb 1.6 million $ (10.62 cr) in overseas. After such opening now the target is highest week one ever. Film should easily clock 135 cr nett over weekend which will be a huge number. Overall another big blockbuster on the cards and this might go all the way to break all the records if it manages to hold on Monday.
