BROTHERS Is Below Par On Weekdays In 2nd Week
Last few weeks saw some extraordinary business at box office. ''Brothers'' got really mixed reviews and there was not much expectation from the film. But film defied all logic to achieve great day two at box office though cracks started showing up on Sunday.
Film collected 15.20 cr nett on day one which was 2nd highest in 2015 and highest ever opener for Akshay Kumar ever. Film was expected to score big on day two as it was Independence Day, national holiday. Film was extraordinary across the board and had jump of 100%:in territories like CP and Gujarat.
Film collected 21.43 cr nett in day two and that is almost 30% jump from Friday. Film did not manage good Sunday as it collected only 15.45 cr nett which was similar to Friday. Film shown drop not only in urban centers but also in multiplexes.
Film has total of 52.08 cr nett in three days, this is highest weekend for Siddharth Malhotra and Akshay Kumar. Film fell heavily on Monday and managed 6.23 cr nett followed by 5.11 cr nett on Tuesday, 4.88 cr nett on Wednesday and 4.30 on Thursday. This was distinct fall and that means now film will struggle to cross 90 cr nett lifetime despite no big competition in 2nd week.
Film has total of 72.60 cr nett in 1st week. But the film dropped big time by 85% on 2nd Friday despite poor competition and collected 1.40 cr nett followed by 2 cr nett on 2nd Saturday, 2.70 cr nett on Sunday and then 75 lakhs nett on 2nd Monday. Film added 6 cr nett in 2nd weekend followed by 5 cr nett on weekdays.
Film has total of 82.47 cr and will struggle to cross 82 cr nett lifetime which is a disappointment.
Film collected very good $1,22,000 in Pakistan which was highest non holiday Friday number there for a Bollywood film. Film collected £ 44,880 on opening day in UK which is higher than £22,082 of ''Gabbar Is Back'', £ 17,488 of ''Baby'' or £ 35,036 of ''It''s Entertainment''.
