“Jatt & Juliet” Rewrites Box Office History
“Jatt & Juliet” has created new records with simply superb business all over. Film has collected not only record numbers in Punjab but overseas total of the film is also mind blowing.
Film is in 5th week of run and it is still running in few cinemas. Film starring Diljit and Neeru Bajwa (she starred opposite Vivek Oberoi in “Prince”) started on a high note and despite release of big Hollywood films and Bollywood flicks, it maintained its momentum throughout.
Film collected 12.40 cr nett in India (including East Punjab & Delhi/UP) which is best ever for a Punjabi film. This is almost double of what a best Punjabi film did in past. Punjabi film never crossed 6.5 cr nett ever at domestic box office. Film also did well in overseas with 4.10 cr collections.
Only “3 Idiots” and “Bodyguard” collected more than “Jatt & Juliet” in East Punjab but those films were released in more screens and in more areas like Himanchal Pradesh and Haryana. Film will incur huge profit as it was made with 3.75 cr budget and will finish 9-10 cr profit for makers only from theatrical run.
