ABCD 2 Gets U Certificate With One Verbal Cut

Monday, 8th June 2015, 3:14 PM IST Remo D’Souza’s ‘ABCD 2’ has been cleared with a 'U' certificate by Censor Board Of Film Certification, but with one verbal cut. The dialogue 'All Indians are beggars' needs to be edited out. A source said, "We were mesmerized by Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhudheva’s dancing. The film is clean healthy family fare. And we all felt there was no reason to not give the film a 'U' certification. However one line had to go. It referred to Indians in a derogatory manner. Censor guidelines specify that no utterances insulting any nationality or community must be allowed." Remo is happy with CBFC’s decision, but is displeased as the film is not getting preponed by a day to 18th June. Remo said, "I was in Dubai this week. They're happy that our film opens on June 18 in Dubai. However I am yet to convince my producers to release the film on June 18 instead of June 19 in India. My Indian Muslim friends are not too happy with this release date as the holy month of Ramzan starts on this date."
