Fox Star Studios And Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions Join Hands For Upcoming Films

Thursday, 4th June 2015, 3:11 PM IST Fox Star Studios and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions have joined hands for their upcoming projects. A deal has been cracked between the production houses for a whopping amount of Rs. 500 cr. According to the said deal, both the production houses will jointly co-produce and distribute nine films. The films will be helmed by directors like Karan Johar himself, Karan Malhotra, Ayan Mukerji, Abhishek Verman, etc. The films which come under the deal features stars like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, etc. Fox Star Studios is not really having a good time in Bollywood with back-back- flops like ‘Khamoshiyan’, ‘Mr. X’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’. And that’s why the studio has decided to change their plan. Karan calls the deal a 'power deal'. The filmmaker hopes that this deal will bring good content, quality screenplays and will also give an opportunity to new talent. According to the deal, some films will be a co-production while others will only be for distribution. For production, the incomes may be divided equally, and for distribution it may differ from 10-12.5%.
