Hrithik Roshan’s Tweet About The Pope Lands Him In Legal Trouble

Thursday, 31st Mar 2016, 3:17 PM IST Some time back, when ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut had referred to Hrithik Roshan as a silly ex, the latter posted a tweet which mentioned the Pope’s name. And now, the actor has landed up in legal trouble for making such a controversial statement about Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church. Hrithik had tweeted, "There r more chances of me having had an affair with d Pope dan any of d (I m sure wonderful) women d media hs ben naming. Thanks but no thanks (sic)." Now, the former Vice-Chairman of Maharashtra Minority Commission, Mr. Abraham Mathai, has accused the star for hurting the feelings of several Christian believers with his tweet. Mathai’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee said, “Hrithik Roshan has hurt the religious sentiments, feelings and beliefs of Christians (Roman Catholics) all over the world which includes my client as well. My client wants a written public apology from Hrithik Roshan within 7 days." The legal notice sent to Hrithik reads, “Thus malafidely, mischievously and intentionally outraged the religious feelings and insulted the religious beliefs of Romans Catholics all over the world who consider the Pope to be absolutely chaste as their spiritual and religious leader.” Now, a written apology is awaited from Hrithik, who has not spoken anything on this issue so far.
