Huma Qureshi And Nargis Fakhri Roped In For AZHAR

Monday, 8th June 2015, 4:23 PM IST Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Azhar’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2016. The casting of the female leads has been in news since a long time. But now, Nargis Fakhri and Huma Qureshi have been roped in to play the roles of Sangeeta Bijlani and Jwala Gutta respectively in the film. Talking about roping in Nargis, a source said, "Director Tony D'Souza and producer Ekta Kapoor wanted an actress who was also a model, and one who could be stunning, sensuous and appealing in a very classy way. Nargis fulfills all these pre-conditions. She is on as Sangeeta." Huma’s character is apparently based on the badminton player Jwala Gutta. There was a buzz about the close friendship between Azhar and Gutta. Earlier the role was offered to Nimrat Kaur, but she opted not to do it due to date issues. According to the grapevine, the character has been modified to suit the script.
