Is Akshay Kumar Starrer RUSTOM Inspired By Nanavati Case?

Friday, 26th Feb 2016, 5:33 PM IST Akshay Kumar’s first look from ‘Rustom’ was revealed yesterday. The superstar is seen as Naval officer Rustom Pavri in the first look. Akki’s look with a moustache resembles the real life naval officer Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati. Kawas was involved in the most controversial case of crime of passion that can be traced back to 1959. Well, the superstar’s look from the film has started speculations that the film might be inspired by Nanavati case. K M Nanavati was a prime suspect for killing his wife's lover and his old friend Prem Bhagwandas Ahuja. What further adds to the speculations is that Akshay while promoting ‘Airlift’ had stated that ‘Rustom’ is also inspired by real life incidents. Around a year ago, even Pooja Bhatt and Soni Razdan had announced a film based on Nanavati case.
