Tuesday, 2nd June 2015, 3:40 PM IST Kangana Ranaut was said to be the first choice to play the lead role in Sujoy Ghosh’s next based on the Japanese bestseller, ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’. Apparently, the actress wanted to do the film, but wanted a clause in her contract that she should be allowed to monitor the editing of the film. A source said, "She wanted it in writing that she should have access to the film during the post-production stage. If she didn't like a particular scene, that would have to be snipped out." Last year, Kangana had a done a course in screenplay writing at the New York Film School. The actress had also written a few dialogues in her film ‘Queen’. Also, there were reports that the actress is keen on doing an editing course. The source said, "Kangana has been hugely influenced by Aamir Khan who takes an active part at every stage of the filmmaking process. Like him, she shuns award functions and wants to play a greater role in her films than just be an actor." However, Sujoy denied the news and said, "I don't want to talk about the project as there have been enough speculations. I will make an announcement post monsoon."
