Tuesday, 16th June 2015, 1:37 PM IST Music Composers : Sachin-Jigar Lyricists: Mayur Puri, Priya Saraiya, D. Soldierz, Rimi Nique, Badshah After the success of ‘ABCD’ (2013), Remo D’Souza is back with the sequel of the film titled ‘ABCD 2’. This time he has got star power in the film with popular newbies like Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor. The movie is slated to release on 19th June. The music of the film is composed by Sachin-Jigar, so let’s see what they have in store for us. The album starts with the track ‘Chunar’. It’s an emotional number with soft music in it. Sachin and Jigar have done an excellent job with the music in this one. The track succeeds in making us emotional. Arijit Singh’s voice is always just the right choice for a soulful number and like always he has sung this track amazingly. Mayur Puri’s lyrics are awesome. Ratings: 3.5/5 Next comes in ‘Sun Saathiya’, a beautiful romantic number. This track has been borrowed from the first part, but in that film we only heard a paragraph of the song. It’s a wonderful number with the mixture of soft and high-on energy beats. Priya Saraiya and Divya Kumar have sung the track very well. Ratings: 3.5/5 Moving forward we have ‘Bezubaan Phir Se’. There was a track in the first part titled ‘Bezubaan’, however this is a totally different version of the track. But the tune of the hook phrase is similar. But that can be ignored as the track turns out to be fantastic. We enjoy the track and it successfully makes us shake a leg on it. Vishal Dadlani, Anushka Manchanda and Madhav Krishna’s voices are amazing in the track. Ratings: 4/5 ‘Happy Birthday’, the next track in the album is a rap number. It’s a strictly okay number and doesn’t really impress us. It’s a birthday party number, but fails to be a perfect party track. Vocals of Varun Dhawan and Sachin-Jigar too fail to impress us. After three impressive numbers, this one fails to win our hearts. Ratings: 2/5 The next song in the album is ‘If You Hold My Hand’. It’s a sweet romantic number which is a perfect track to propose someone. It has a classy touch in the music. The hero of the track is Benny Dayal. If someone else would have sung the song it would have been an average number, but Benny’s voice takes the song to a higher level. Ratings: 3/5 We can never forget the song ‘Sadda Dil Vi Tu (Ga Ga Ga Ganpati)’ from ‘ABCD’. And now, in the sequel also we have a song dedicated to Ganpati Bappa. ‘Hey Ganaraya’ is a mind-blowing number with Indian classical music in it. It has a desi flavor in it and impresses us a lot. Divya Kumar has exceptionally sung the number. Ratings: 4/5 Moving forward we hear the voice of Mika Singh in the track ‘Happy Hour’. It’s a good number with soft music and the high-on tempo beats in between are refreshing. Mika’s voice in the track is impressive and the South Indian touch in the track reminds us that it’s a song featuring Prabhudheva. Ratings: 3/5 And now, here we have an entertaining foot-tapping number ‘Naach Meri Jaan’. It’s a fantastic dance number and you will also start dancing while listening to it. The lyrics of the track take us back to early 2000. Vocals of Benny Dayal, Shalmali Kholgade, Siddharth Basrur and Rimi Nique are good in the track. This can be a perfect track to shake your leg in a party. Ratings: 3.5/5 The next song in the album is ‘Tattoo’. It’s a strictly okay number and doesn’t really reach the level created by the few good numbers mentioned above. Shefali Alvares’ voice also doesn’t do wonders for the track. This one is an average number. Ratings: 2/5 And the last track in the album is ‘Vande Mataram’. With the title itself we come to know that it’s going to be a patriotic number. And yes, the track is surely one of the best patriotic numbers of recent times. We really feel like dancing on the number. The music of the track is full-on desi. This one proves to be one of the best numbers of the album. Daler Mehndi, Tanishka Sanghvi, Badshah and Divya Kumar have done an excellent job with their voices. Ratings: 4/5 On the whole, music album of ‘ABCD 2’ could have been the best album of the year, but a few mediocre numbers make it just a decent album. Ratings: 3.5/5 Music Review By –
