Music Review: SINGH IS BLIING Has A Perfect Massy Album We Were Waiting For

Tuesday, 29th Sept 2015, 1:51 PM IST Music Composers: Sneha Khanwalkar, Manj Musik, Sajid-Wajid, Meet Bros Lyricists: Sneha Khanwalkar, Manj Musik, Nindy Kaur, Raftaar, Big Dhillon, Wajid, Irfan Kamal, Kumaar Akshay Kumar and Prabhudheva have once again teamed up for the film ‘Singh Is Bliing’. The movie also stars Amy Jackson and Lara Dutta. It will be releasing this Friday. The music of the film is out. So, let’s see what’s there in store for us. The album starts with the track ‘Tung Tung Baje’. It’s a perfect Punjabi number with folk dhol beats. The lyrics are also in pure Punjabi. If you want to do some Bhangra then this song is just perfect for you. Sneha Khanwalkar has done a great job with the music and Diljit Dosanjh has sung the track wonderfully. Ratings: 4/5 Next comes in ‘Singh & Kaur’, once again a Punjabi number. The track has Punjabi beats mixed up with contemporary rock music. It’s an entertaining number. However, it doesn’t reach the standard of ‘Tung Tung Baje’. Manj Musik, Nindy Kaur and Raftaar’s voices do justice to the track. There is also a remix version of the track which turns out to be better than the original. Ratings: 3.5/5 Moving forward we hear a romantic track titled ‘Cinema Dekhe Mamma’ which has all the Prabhudheva elements in it. It will remind you of songs like ‘Dhadang Dhang Dhang’ from ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Saree Ke Fall Sa’ from ‘R… Rajkumar’. It’s a full-on masala number and masses are going to love it. Wajid Ali, Shaan and Ritu Pathak’s voices take the track to the top notch. Ratings: 4.5/5 The next song in the album is ‘Mahi Aaja’. It is the same track which was released a few years ago by RDB. Here, they have just changed the tempo a bit, but the track is almost same. Manj Musik and Sasha have sung the track very well. There is also an unplugged version and a remix version of the track. But, both the tracks fail to impress us the way the original one does. Ratings: 3.5/5 And the last and the best track of the album is here. Titled as ‘Dil Kare Chu Che’, it is one of the most entertaining tracks of the year. Meet Bros impress us with their music while Labh Janjua, Apeksha Dandekar and Meet Bros have sung the track amazingly. The track will surely make you shake a leg on it.
