Friday, 5th August 2016, 07:00 PM IST Punjab Government has banned the release of Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani starrer ‘The Legend Of Michael Mishra’. The film is banned for two months with immediate effect after resentment from a Dalit community in the state. The allegation from the community is that harbinger-poet Maharshi Valmiki was portrayed in a wrong way in the movie. A source said, “The decision is aimed at keeping intact the hard-earned peace and social harmony of the state as the screening of the film may trigger massive protests. During such suspension, it shall be deemed to be an uncertified film in the state.” The movie is directed by Manish Jha and stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Kaizan Irani with Arshad and Boman. The movie released nationwide today.
