Monday, 02nd June 2014, 02:30 PM IST National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao is most praised for his role in ‘Shahid’ which got him the award. And now, the actor is garnering more praises for his most recent film ‘Citylights’. Sadly, however, his latest film ‘Focus’, has hit a roadblock. The film that’s being produced by Bejoy Nambiar was to be directed by Akarsh Khurrana, but we have heard that the director has walked out of the project.
Apparently, Akarsh had a fallout with Bejoy which led to him quitting the film. A source close to the film said, “Akarsh and Bejoy decided not to work together before the equation between them got worse. The differences were irrevocable. A similar situation midway through the film would have been a bigger blow.”
‘Focus’ is a film about a road trip that has had its fair share of hiccups. Earlier, Nawazuddin Siddiqui was roped in but after the script was reworked he was excluded from the final cast.
Producer Bejoy confirmed the news saying, “Due to some creative differences, Akarsh has decided to opt out. The decision was amicable and made in the best interest of the film.” The source further informed, “A director cannot be replaced immediately. Bejoy has shortlisted a few names and will soon take the final call.” |
