It has been learnt that Kay Kay Menon’s role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Haider’ was initially offered to Manoj Bajpayee. However the actor declined the role because he was not ready to play Shahid Kapoor’s uncle in the film.

A source informed, “The role offered to Manoj was that of Shahid's uncle's. It would have required him to look much older, especially while sharing screen space with Shahid. He wasn't keen on that though he has played older characters with grey shades in the past.” But there is no hard feeling between the two. The source further informed, “They hardly meet each other. Moreover, Vishal didn't go to Manoj directly; it was the film's casting director who approached Manoj.”

‘Haider’ is currently in the editing stage and is slated to release in October this year.
