Saturday, 22nd Nov 2014, 3:42 PM IST Cricketer S.Sreesanth is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Pooja Bhatt’s ‘Cabaret’. He will play an important role in the film. Sreesanth will be seen playing a mentor to Richa Chadda’s character in the film. He has already accepted a signing amount of Rs. 5 lakh. Sreesanth came on board because of Sonu Lakhwani, the executive producer of the film. Sonu suggested Sreesanth's name to Pooja and showed a picture of Sreesanth to her. Pooja dropped Sonu at Sreesanth's place. That day the cricketer was celebrating his birthday. So, his wife Nayan told Sonu to invite Pooja as well. So, even Pooja joined the celebrations. When she went to Sreesanth’s house, he showed Pooja his wedding video and that’s where Pooja said, "That's my Chetta!" Chetta means elder brother in Malayalam. Talking about getting the cricketer on board, Pooja said, "Sreesanth speaks Hindi with a slight Malayali accent and that's just what I was looking for. Initially, we had thought of casting an elderly actor as Richa's mentor but once I met Sreesanth, the dynamics changed. His look in thefilm is the same as that in his wedding picture which Sonu showed me. Having Sreesanth in the film is a win-win situation --those who love him will watch the film, those who hate him will also come to see him. He is at an interesting phase in his life." ‘Cabaret’ will go on floors in January 2015.
