Friday, 5th Dec 2014, 3:33 PM IST Many filmmakers have tried their hands on dance movies and now Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman are all set to produce a film based on a dance group named SlumGods. The movie will showcase mixes of dance, music and art. The founder of online movie platform Qyuki, Samir Bangara is also producing the film. Shekhar confirmed the news and said that he immediately agreed to produce the film when he heard the music created by the young members. He said, "I heard their Marathi-Tamil rap, which discussed their problems and realised that they need a bigger platform. We helped them with a makeshift studio and then decided to make a movie on them." The movie aims to change the opinion of people towards Dharavi as it is always stated to be a hub of poverty and crime. The film will be written, directed and shot by members of SlumGods themselves. Shekhar said, "I will be there to support them creatively and technically, but ultimately it's their story."
