Friday, 12th Dec 2014, 6:28 PM IST Rajinikanth starrer ‘Lingaa’ released today in Tamil and Telugu languages, but the Hindi version of the film has been postponed to exploit the regional versions optimally. A source said, "Rajinikanth has a good fan following across the country. Even up North as well as Mahaharshtra belt, his Tamil and Telugu versions do quite well. This was first evidenced with ‘Sivaji - The Boss’ where it did so well that multi-starrer ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’, which released on the same day, had to suffer a jolt at many centers. Later, even though his ‘Robot’ turned out to be the biggest grosser ever as far as dubbed films are concerned, the original ‘Endhiran’ got its good share of eyeballs outside the four states down South. Hence, once all calculations were done, it was decided to bring just the regional versions first." There are plans to release the Hindi version on 26th Dec. "That would add on to the earning capacity of the film due to continued footfalls for many weeks. ‘Lingaa’ is a huge film with Rajinikanth in a double role. As a matter of fact this is his fourth film in succession where he is enacting a double role, be it ‘Sivaji - The Boss’, ‘Endhiran’, ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ and now ‘Lingaa’. When it comes to Rajinikanth, 'domein zyaada mazaa hai'. Now the Hindi version would release 'do hafte baad'. It is going to be double the celebrations," said the source.
