Wednesday, 24th Dec 2014,12:44 PM IST The shooting of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Chitrangada Singh starrer ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ was going on in West Bengal. But the shoot was interrupted by the members of Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India. And the director of the film stopped the shoot and left the state. The director of the film Kushan Nandy says that the members of Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India harassed him. He said, "In the past week alone, I've paid over Rs 55 lakh, following threats from these people. These people work like a mafia. They made me hire six assistants – four of whom never showed up on the set. Yet I was forced to clear their payment." But, Aparna Ghatak, the General Secretary of the Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India has something else to say. She said, "He hasn't paid our technicians, who are some of the finest in the industry. His cheques have bounced twice. Yet we didn't go to the cops." “One day a group of people barged into the sets, locked our cameras and barricaded our hotel. It was almost like a hostage situation. The Federation members are hand in glove with the local politicians. I will never shoot in West Bengal again,” said Nandy. On this, Aparna said, “Why will our technicians not demand money if they have worked on the film? He shot for over 10 days and there was full co-operation from our side. We've taken the matter up with our Mumbai counterpart."
