Film was not expected to do such a biz with exceptional trending and positive word of mouth all around. ''Piku'' is produced by Sony MSM and distributed by Yash Raj Films. Film released in 1600 - 1800 screens and it had opened to glowing reviews and decent occupancy. Film was solid in metros especially in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore and collected 5.32 cr nett on Friday. Film had very good weekend of 25 cr nett plus despite low opening day of 5 cr nett and then it had super week one of 41 cr nett plus. Film had tough competition in 2nd week due to wide release of ''Bombay Velvet''. Film got some reduction in shows but despite that film continued its run in 2nd week. Film scored 14.50 cr nett in 2nd weekend and 23.80 cr nett in 2nd week which was just 45% drop from week one. Film again scored very good 3rd Friday despite release of ''Tanu Weds Manu Returns''. Film collected 1.35 cr nett on 3rd Friday which was just drop of 40% from 2nd Friday. Film jumped again on 2nd Saturday by 65% and collected 2.40 cr nett. Film had good Sunday and collected 2.75 cr nett. Film has total of 9.86 cr nett in 3rd week which was super. Film got benefited by pathetic show of ''Bombay Velvet'' and now it is on course to touch 80 cr nett lifetime which is simply outstanding. Film crossed 100 cr nett worldwide and that is huge achievement for the film. Film was highest opener in overseas with collection of 2.20 million $ (14.60 cr) over weekend and 34 cr in 17 days.
