BANGISTAN Had Disastrous Weekend

Last few weeks saw some humongous business at box office thanks to ''Bahubali'' and ''Bajrangi Bhaijaan''. Last week saw release of Ajay Devgn starrer ''Drishyam'' which was average at box office. And this week will see interesting mix of films at box office - black comedy ''Bangistan'', period drama ''Jaanisar'' and Hollywood big franchise flick ''Misison Impossible 5''.

''Bangistan'' is one more Excel Entertainment film with too urban and niche feel. Film opened to very poor numbers around 8-10% and with not so great reviews coming out, it looks like a tough ride at box office ahead for the film. Film was so bad in few markets that even evening shows were cancelled due to insufficient audience. Film collected very poor 1.05 cr nett on day one. It is now in no hope zone as despite considerable growth on day two, it can not change the course.

Film collected 1.30 cr nett on day two and 1.50 cr nett on Sunday. Now three day total of film is 3.85 cr nett. Film has no growth over weekend and film has poor word of mouth so weekdays will be poorer. It is heading for maximum lifetime total of 7 cr nett which is a disastrous result.
