Thursday, 1st April 2016, 1:23 PM IST KAPOOR & SONS Is Decent In 2nd Week ''Kapoor & Sons'' released last weekend all over in middle of lot of expectations as this can be 3rd successful film of this year after ''Neerja'' and ''Airlift''. Film has hot star cast as far as audience of urban multiplex are concerned. Film released across 1500 screens and opened to below par occupancy which was shocking as better opening was expected due to one hit song and cast. Film was expected to grow from evening onwards as reports were good and reviews were in good side too. And it did improve big time but only in selected cinemas and cities. Film collected 6.85 cr nett on day one. Film needed to score well yesterday but big India - Pakistan match dented collections in big way. Still film managed to collect 7.75 cr nett which was 12% growth. Film jumped big on Sunday and collected 11.75 cr nett. This big jump was in metros and due to positive reviews/word of mouth. Film managed to score very good Monday but again film held well in metros as small centers dropped big time. Metros drop by 15% but small centers dropped by 40% plus. Film collected 5.08 cr nett on Monday followed by very good 4.50 cr nett on Tuesday and 4.35 cr nett on Wednesday. On Thursday, the film collected 6.65 cr nett. Film collected 46.93 cr nett in 1st week. Film added 4.21 cr nett on 2nd Friday which was drop of less than 50%. Film collected 4.24 cr nett on 2nd Saturday. On second Sunday, the film collected 3.64 cr nett. Film added 1.80 cr nett on 2nd Monday followed by 1.70 cr nett on Tuesday, 1.35 cr nett on Wednesday and 1.20 cr nett on Thursday. Film collected 17 cr nett in 2nd week. Film has two week total of 65.07 cr nett. Film has controlled cost and has recovered sizable amounts from ancillary rights. Film should hold good in 2nd week and take it to beyond 65 cr nett. Film collected good in overseas with 4.2 million $ (28.07 cr) in week one and 5.35 million $ (35.65 cr) at end of 2nd weekend.
