Music Composers: Vipin Patwa, Mathias Duplessy, Shiraz Uppal, Mathias Duplessy.
Lyricists: Mange Ram Koch, Mathias Duplessy, Shakeel Sohail, Kausar Munir & Fazilpuria.
“Lal Rang” directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal brings to light an interesting concept of the illegal Blood Bank trade that exists in parts of India with a romantic angle to the film. Starring Randeep Hooda, Meenakshi Dixit, Akshay Oberoi & Rajniesh Duggall is all set to hit screens on 22nd Apr 2016.
The album starts with the track ‘Bhaang Ragad Ke’ sung by Vikas Kumar & Vipin Patwa in their earthy & raw voices to the lyrics penned down by Mange Ram Koch who through his writing beautifully compares the lives of the well off versus the poor. It’s an amazing track and is superbly composed by Vipin Patwa with great melody & thought. Ratings: 3.5/5
The next song is ‘Bawli Booch’ is a crazy track which is made to sound like a spiritual song but is a complete off beat song and is not meant to be taken seriously at all. Sung by Vikas Kumar and has been weirdly composed by Dushyant Kumar it’s different, it’s fun, it’s mad and still quite musical. Mathias Duplessy has written the mind boggling lyrics for the song which only adds to the craziness. Ratings: 2.5/5
‘Mera Maan’ is the next song of the album which takes off with an aalap. It’s a sufiyana romantic number it is exceptionally composed by Shiraz Uppal to the flawless lyrics of Shakeel Sohail & is sung divinely by Kashif Ali & Shiraz Uppal. The Lyrics of the song are soulfully romantic with a tuneful classical piece that is part of the song. The line “Tujh Mein Laga Hai Mera Maan” is simple yet lovable. Ratings: 3.5/5
The fourth song of the album is ‘Aye Khuda’ which is an unusual songand is an interesting composition by Mathias Duplessy has been sung fantastically by Mukhtiyar Ali, Sameer Khan in their electrifying voices. It has been written by Kausar Munir. These songs may not be the ones you will listen to usually but they are the ones that will surely enhance the concept of the film. The song starts with one musical instrument and progresses into symphony which is fab. Ratings: 3/5
The next song of the film is ‘Laali Dil Se’ written by Kausar Munir using very strong lines talks about the plot of the film and has an Arabic western tone to the composition by Mathias Duplessy, Sung by Sameer Khanin a desi yet modern voice. However the song lacks melody I guess there’s not too much scope for melody in this script anyways. Ratings: 2.5/5
The last song of the album are the two different versions of ‘Kharch Karod’ one absolutely rocking and the other a very slow one. Sung by Fazilpuria in his rustic vocals, Vikas Kumar & Vipin Patwa helping rock it further, composed by Vipin Patwa written by Fazilpuria. Take my word for it this one’s going to rock up the north. Ratings: 3.5/5
Overall, the album of ‘Laal Rang’ is a fun filled one with variety, earthiness & melody not something you’d get hooked onto but this album will add value to the plot of the film giving it the perfect balance that is required while watching a conceptually serious film. Cheers to the team!!!!! Ratings:3.5/5
