Music Review Veerappan: Short & Peppy Unlike Veerappan’s Muchhi
| |
Music Composers: Jeet Ganguli, Shaarib, Toshi.
Lyricists: Manoj Yadav, Manoj Muntashir.
'Veerappan' directed by Ram Gopal Varma is based on the life of the Indian bandit Veerappan, and the events leading to Operation Cocoon to capture or kill Veerappan. The film stars Sandeep Bharadwaj, Lisa Ray, Sachin Joshi & Usha Jadhav. It is scheduled to release on 27 May 2016. Let’s review the music album to know if it’s as musically fierce as Veerappan .
The album starts with the song ‘Veer Veer Veerappan’ which is fast paced track composed sung by the duo Shaarib- Toshi accompanied by Payal Dee,Vee in her haunting vocals giving the track the right scary feel. The lyrics of the song have been penned down by Manoj Yadav using classic Sholay ,Lalla Lalla Lori & Jungle Jungle baat chali hai Dialogues with changed names and making it sound like Shloks playing mind games trying to express fright. Nice attempt and quite impactful for a title track. Ratings: 2.5/5
The second track is an Item number ‘Khallas’ composed by Shaarib- Toshi on the back ground of the Fast & Furious title sound track sung by Jasmine Sandlas who sounds as freighting as Veerappan ( pun intended) accompanied by Shaarib- Toshi. This one is much faster than the original one and the fast& furious bit only adds on to make the track spicier however the original is & will always be the best. Ratings: 2.5/5
‘Muchhi’ is the last track of the album sung by Mohan Kanan composed by Jeet Gannguli on the lyrics penned down by Manoj Muntashir emphasizing on Veerappan’s cruelty & a feature that was a very integral part of his personality his Muchhi!! Ratings: 2/5
Overall, the album of ‘Veerappan’ is quite a catchy one with one remake , one decent title track and one Muchhi song what I really appreciate about the makers is they kept this album short & peppy. Ratings: 2.5/5
