CHARLIE KAY CHAKKAR MEIN And Other New Releases Flop Miserably
Pre Diwali period is golden time when all small films grab the opportunity to make big at box office. Last week YRF''s ''Titli'', ''Main Aur Charles'', ''Guddu Ki Gun'' and few more small time Hindi and Hollywood films released but none of them made any impact at box office. This week has ''Charlie Kay Chakkar Mein'', ''Yaara Silly Silly'', ''Ranbanka'' and ''Basement'' in addition to few Hollywood releases.
''Charlie Kay Chakkar Mein'' had got better reviews. But as expected, film opened to around 2% occupancy. It needed big turnaround from evening onwards for any faint chance at box office but that didn''t happen. Film was best out of new releases and collected 23 lakhs nett on day one followed by 25 lakhs nett on day two. Film will finish with 75 lakhs nett weekend and 1 cr nett lifetime. Flop!
''Yaara Silly Silly'' was more mainstream but even then film has opened to 1-2% occupancy despite decent release. Film needed big jumps from there onwards but that did not happen as it collected 12 lakhs nett on Friday and 10 lakhs nett on Saturday. Film will collect 30 lakhs nett over weekend and 40 lakhs nett lifetime.
Other releases ''Basement'' and ''Ranbanka'' are washout with lower than 7 lakhs nett figure. Few Hollywood releases like ''Hotel Transylvania 2'' will not add much either at box office. ''Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2'' will again dominate at box office this week and should cross 62 cr nett lifetime.
