KICK Remains Flat On 2nd Saturday
Salman Khan starrer ''Kick'' was big ticket festive release. Film had huge expectations as it was 1st directorial venture of Sajid Nadiadwala, 1st release of Salman Khan after rather below par response to ''Jai Ho'' and huge pre release buzz.
Film collected huge 83.83 cr nett over weekend in India and film continued to perform good numbers over weekdays. After Tuesday film was rock steady as festivities for Eid started. Film managed huge 164 cr nett plus in week one.
Film is now certain to mark Salman Khan''s entry into 200 cr club. Film has chances to become 2nd highest grosser ever at box office beating his arch rival SRK''s ''Chennai Express''. But all this depends heavily on 2nd week business.
Today again film started with rather distinct drops on all over and though film had good weekdays in week one but film is not looking to hold upto the levels of ''''Dhoom 3''''. Film is especially poor in north and eastern markets. Delhi and Gujarat are doing still very well but tax in Rajasthan is hurting now.
Film collected close to 9.22 cr nett on day 8 which is fairly good but not great considering good number on weekdays. Film was good but never jumped on expected lines today. Film was good in Mumbai but central India and south did not meet the desired level. As per early estimates, film should collect 10.60-10.80 cr nett which is only 17% growth from yesterday.
Now film looks to score only 32 cr nett 2nd weekend and 45-48 cr nett week two. This will be a fair total but film should score 60 cr nett in 2nd week going by no competition at box office and screen count. Otherwise film will be in close competition with SRK starrer ''Chennai Express'' which hold the 2nd spot on all time Box office list at the moment.
Film is a huge hit at box office with out any doubt but distributors will find tough to recover investment if it finishes below 240 cr nett which seems the case at the moment. For example, West Bengal was sold for close to 6-6.20 cr and it has collection of 7.86 cr nett (3.72 cr share) and so distributor is set to lose in range of 1 cr. Story is similar in most of the territories.
Film has total of 173 cr nett plus in 8 days and that means film will cross 200 cr nett in weekend two or 11th day if it crosses 185 cr nett today. In overseas market, film was good over the week and collected close to 42.85 cr nett in 7 days. Worldwide film has crossed 200 cr nett which is 1st for Salman Khan.
