TANU WEDS MANU RETURNS Approaches 150 Cr Nett After 6th Weekend
Kangana Ranaut delivered hits like ''''''''''''''''Queen'''''''''''''''' and ''''''''''''''''Tanu Weds Manu'''''''''''''''' in last few years. She is now back with another potential super hit film ''''''''''''''''Tanu Weds Manu Returns''''''''''''''''. Film has advantage to go ''''''''''''''''Piku'''''''''''''''' way due to clear couple of weeks at box office and sequel edge but film exceeded every expectations and is heading towards blockbuster status.
Film released across 2300 plus screens and it took fairly good start at box office. Film opened to very good occupancy all over. Reviews were positive and word of mouth was exceptional. Film scored very well in central India and north though it was a bit slow in western and south India.
Film had slight competition from ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''Piku'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' otherwise it will had open run for two weeks, almost like the 1st installment of the film in 2011. Film collected very good 8.85 cr nett on day one followed by 38 cr nett plus over weekend. Film remained super strong on weekdays and with almost similar numbers on each weekday, film crossed 70 cr nett in week one.
Film had almost zilch competition on 2nd Friday and it collected huge 6.65 cr nett which is only 10% less than Thursday. Film collected 26 cr nett in 2nd week and 46.71 cr nett in 2nd week due to super solid performance on weekdays. This is 6th best 2nd week ever and this took film to 116 cr nett in two weeks.
Film again surprised on 3rd week with good 2.70 cr nett on 3rd Friday despite big release ''''Dil Dhadakane Do''''. Film again jumped on 3rd Saturday and collected 4.18 cr nett. Film collected 5.40 cr nett on 3rd Sunday with 25% jump. Film collected 20 cr nett in 3rd week which is 3rd best ever after ''''PK'''' and ''''3 Idiots''''.
Film started 4th week with a bang and collected 1.27 cr nett despite new releases followed by good jump and 1.65 cr nett on 4th Saturday which means film will add even more numbers in coming weeks. Film jumped on 4th Sunday and collected 2.60 cr nett followed by 2.90 cr nett on weekdays. Film has collected 8.30 cr nett in 4th week.
Film collected 38 lakhs nett on 5th Friday, 56 lakhs nett on 5th Saturday and 95 lakhs nett on 5th Sunday. Film added 1.33 cr on weekdays in 5th week thus taking 5th week total to 3.25 cr nett. This was again a good trending at box office and collected 3,22 cr nett in 5th week. Film added 22 lakhs, 36 lakhs and 52 lakhs nett over 5th weekend followed by 19 lakhs nett on Monday, 18 lakhs nett on Tuesday, 17 lakhs nett on Wednesday and 15 lakhs nett on Thuirsday.
Film has finally crossed 150 cr nett mark with total of 150.03 cr nett in 42 days. now it is 10th biggest hit of all time. Film should add numbers in 7th week too and should cross 150.50 cr nett by end of run. All Time Blockbuster!
