‘Udta Punjab’ producer Anurag Kashyap has been CBFC’s all time favorite scapegoat. The filmmaker has faced the heat from the Certification Board several times as his movies cover some dark, real and harsh issues. The maker is currently attending Indian Film Festival of Melbourne where he will talk about stringent censorship rules in India.
Anurag said, “I had a career unreleased for seven years because of censorship. My film ‘Paanch’ was blocked for showcasing drug issues and violence against police officer initially but later passed by the board which left the producer bankrupt.”
Anurag recently faced the brunt from CBFC for ‘Udta Punjab’ which later passed with just one cut.
