Salman Khan, who was in Kashmir for the shooting of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, helped an impoverished widow's family in the Valley.
The superstar has left Kashmir to attend his court case hearing, but the superstar has changed the destiny of a family of six in the remote village of Diyaroo in Anantnag district.
75-year-old matriarch, Zaina Begum, met Salman while he was shooting in Pahalgam. Zaina has been struggling, with her 40-year-old widowed daughter Dilshada Jaan, to raise her four grandchildren, who moved into her modest home after the untimely demise of their father. Alms have been keeping this poor family alive.
A neighbour persuaded Zaina Begum to meet Salman. She came on the sets of the film and asked Salman’s security guards that she wanted to meet him. After listening to her problems, Salman immediately gave her eldest grandson,18-year-old Gowhar Ahmad Bhat a job on the sets of the film, so he could take some money home for his mother and grandmother as well as his three sisters, Rukaiya Jaan (15), Khalida Jaan (12) and Khushboo Jaan (10).
A source says that Salman told Gowhar that he could be with the crew till the schedule in Kashmir gets completed and later come to Mumbai and work with him. The source said, "Salman assured him that he and his family would never want for anything again.”
Gowhar said, "Upar khuda hai, neeche Salman Khan."
