Thursday, 2nd April 2015, 2:54 PM IST Vivek Oberoi and director Mani Ratnam, who have worked together in ‘Yuva’ (2004), were all set to collaborate for another project in 2004. The project was to be the remake of Tamil film, ‘7/G Rainbow Colony’, but then Mani opted out of it and the film went on a back burner. However, now Vivek has got the remake rights of the film and will be producing it. A source said, "Everything was in place and Vivek was kicked about the project but it never took off. I have seen the original four times, and so has Vivek who has purchased the remake rights and will produce it besides playing the lead." The film has been remade in Telugu as’ 7/G Brundhavan Colony’, in Bengali as ‘Prem Amar’, and in Kannada as ‘Gilli’. "Now, we will finally have the Hindi version," added the source.
