Salman Khan Hit-and-run Case: Prosecution Questions Statement Of The Superstar’s Driver

Thursday, 2nd April 2015, 7:44 PM IST Few days ago, Salman Khan’s driver Ashok Singh had stated that he was the one who was driving the car when the accident had taken place. But, the public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat has questioned the driver’s statement. He has questioned that since so many years there were only three people in the car when accident had taken place – Salman Khan, singer Kamaal Khan and police bodyguard, late Ravindra Patil. So, from where did this fourth person come in. Gharat told Additional Sessions Judge D.W. Deshpande, "He (Ashok Singh) appears to have been brought in now." He said that Salman took the name of the driver when his statement was being recorded under section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. "You never ever mentioned about the fourth person. Can this piece of evidence be accepted," Gharat questioned. Gharat said that when earlier Salman had agreed that the car was owned by him, why didn’t he mention anything about the driver. The next session will take place on 6th April.
