“Dear Dad” is a bittersweet coming of age story; involving a father-son duo, directed by Tanuj Bhramar and a bollywood comeback of the yesteryear's calm & composed heart throb Arvind Swamy. All set for release on May 13th, 2016. Let’s listen through the short & sweet album to know more.
‘Girha’ is the first song of the album sung by Ali Noor who is a Toronto based musician in his very modernistic& husky voice. It’s a magnificent melody with soft rock beats and inspiring lyrics penned down by Deepak Ramola. It’s a perfect composition by Arjun–Raghav giving it the right essence that is required to intertwine emotions &relations together by using the word Girha aptly in the song. Ratings: 3/5
The next song is ‘Chota Hu Mein’ sung by Jasleen Royal sounding like an innocent child which I consider as a talent in itself considering she is a young lady. It’s a pure composition by Ujjwal Kashyap reminding you of your childhood days. The lyrics by Neeraj Rajawat are heart touchingly simple with the guitar strumming in the background the mouth organ& the piano adding in creating a symphony. It’s a song every grown up whishes he sang when he was little. Ratings: 3/5
‘Jo Bhi Ho’ sung & composed by Raghav- Arjun to the lyrics of Deepak Ramola. This is the last song of the album keeping it short & sweet leaving it simple & not trying to do anything uselessly different for it to be noticed. Ratings: 2.5/5
Overall, the album of ‘Dear Dad’ is melodious and sensitive just like the subject of the film. In today’s times where reviewing music is quite a challenge as there are so many genres in one single album, this one comes as a pleasing relief as it only aims at doing one thing and that is targeting your heart and trust me it’s a Bulls Eye.
