By Reema Chhabda - May 3, 2019 Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film Dream Girl will see him take on some unconventional roles, where he dresses up as female characters like Sita, Draupadi and Radha. Dream Girl, a sweet simple comedy, marks the directorial debut of Raaj Shaandilyaa and will be produced by Ekta Kapoor. It hits theatres on 13th September 2019. Shaandilyaa’s career since 2006 revolved around scriptwriting for notable comics Kapil Sharma, Krushna Abhishek & Sudesh Lehri. “Writing dialogues was the main work that we did on those shows. As I used to churn out four-five scripts for TV quickly, it helped me a lot with this film,” the director said. Revealing a little about the film, the director said that the film is set in Mathura and Ayushmann will be heard speaking Haryanvi and Hindi languages in the local accent. Shaandilyaa praised the Andhadhun star for his hard work and dedication. Aayushmann opened up about the struggles that he had to go through to get his role right. "It is so difficult. Three people helped me drape the saree. But anyway, it was a lot of fun," Ayushmann recounted. Aayushman has also geared up to share the screen with Bhumi Pednekar for the third time, in Amar Kaushik’s next film Bala.
