Saturday, 2nd August, 2014, 03:50 PM IST Director Kunal Deshmukh is the second one to step out of the Bhatt clan to be on his own, the first one being Mohit Suri who has already tasted success with 'Ek Villain'.
When asked why he chose to move out on his own, Kunal replied, “I wanted to grow and not restrict myself to one particular kind of cinema. It was a tough call and I pondered over it for a long time before taking the plunge.” Kunal is currently busy with the post-production of his film ‘Raja Natwarlal’ starring Emraan Hashmi and Humaima Malick. On being quizzed how he got the Pakistani actress to lock lips with Emraan, he revealed that she was skeptical about it initially. He said, "Humaima was very hesitant initially, fearing a backlash in Pakistan. There were no kisses in the original script but as we moved forward, I felt that they were required. So I asked Humaima point-blank if she wanted to be a successful Bollywood heroine. I pointed out to her that none of our young stars have qualms about locking lips. Above all, I assured her that unlike other Emraan's flicks, the kisses in this case didn't lead to lovemaking.” |
